Our school is an unique campus for all the
right reasons. It’s a common practice, when taking a prospective
family on a tour, to ask students (with no warning) to share what they
believe are the very best and worst things about Jackson Christian High
School (JCHS). The response our students give is almost always the same.
Over 90% of our graduates go on to pursue college
degrees!
Our
students love the “family” atmosphere that permeates our school. They
appreciate teachers who care about every area of their lives. Faculty
members, who push them to do their personal best, challenge them
academically. They are encouraged to seek God with all their heart, soul,
mind and strength, and to love their neighbor – fellow students and
community- as themselves. Just like a family, they are encouraged to be
forgiving and to recognize and respect the strengths of their classmates.
Predictably, most high school students say they least like the school dress
code. They would rather wear jeans, t-shirts and flip-flops than shirts with
collars, dress pants and shoes. We lovingly remind them that they will be
better prepared for professionalism in their careers if they know a little
about neatness and modesty.
Our most important responsibility, our mission in fact, is to produce
students who look at all of life with a Christian worldview and who are
willing and ready to change their culture for Christ.
We don’t apologize for our rigorous curriculum and high expectations. By
remaining focused on the foundational tenants of education, our students are
well prepared for the academic demands of college. Over 90% of our graduates
go on to pursue college degrees.
We choose to not follow every educational trend or fad that comes along, lest we lose our academic focus. We commonly
graduate students who are “wordsmiths”, meaning they are known for superb
written and verbal communication skills. No matter what profession our
students pursue, superior communication skills serve them well and often put
them a step ahead.
It is our purpose to serve as a greenhouse for spiritual development. We
provide a warm environment with rich soil so that they will develop healthy
“roots.” By offering an environment where they can test and prove their
faith, they are prepared for the harshness of our culture and are not easily
swayed away from God’s truth, which they have come to know and love.

Extracurricular life is full. Students have ministry opportunities that
train them how to serve others. Over 80% of our students participate in at
least one team sport and our high school band is absolutely outstanding.
They have never earned less than straight superior ratings at the Michigan
High School Band and Orchestra Association district competition. Our drama
team, The Royal Players, have more actual performance time during the school
year than any high school our size. |

JCHS is a great experience that reinforces the values Christian families
hold dear. Stop by or call to arrange a visit. We would love to show you
around and ask a few students to acquaint you with campus life at JCHS. |
